DI SISI ALAM

Discover ELAEIS GARDENS

In 2025, SD Guthrie’s EcoGardens entered a new chapter, bringing together nine destinations near our oil palm plantations under one renewed identity: ELAEIS GARDENS.

Today, ELAEIS GARDENS offer simple retreats shaped by the land, the palms and the steady pace of nature. As a destination for ecotourism and hospitality, we champion sustainability in everything we do. From the way we manage our land to how we welcome our guests.

Guided by the philosophy of Di Sisi Alam (Closer by Nature), each location invites you to slow down and enjoy the moment. Whether it's through a round of golf, meetings in peaceful settings, quiet heritage trails or shared meals inspired by local flavours, we invite you to look closer at the world around you. Through our Know-Your-Palm-Oil programme, guests can learn about the journey of sustainable palm oil and the vital role it plays in our ecosystem and the global community.

Across every destination, the focus remains the same: open skies, fresh air, and time spent reconnecting with nature, with the story of the land, and with one another.

History

Built on the palm legacy of SD Guthrie, ELAEIS GARDENS was introduced in 2025 to bring us closer to nature. We achieved this by opening up our estates: reimagining historical bungalows and plantation corners into spaces where landscape is the focus. By preserving the natural terrain and inviting the outdoors in, we’ve created a retreat where the boundary between nature and home intentionally fades away.

What started as sustainable retreats has evolved into nine unique locations that blend historical charm with modern comfort. From the colonial structures of Carey Island to our newer spaces across Malaysia, we honour generations who cared for it and create room for connection with Mother Nature.

Closer by Nature

Di Sisi Alam is about more than just being near greenery. It’s about creating the right setting for people to actually connect. On Carey Island, our heritage bungalows overlook the Langat River for quiet family time. At Tasik Impian in Kunak, the lakeside offers a place for healing and reflection, while Rajawali overlooks the plantations for gatherings that linger. Every ELAEIS GARDENS location is designed to help you step away from the rush, clear your thoughts, and focus on what really matters.

Sustainability

As part of the SD Guthrie family, ELAEIS GARDENS is built on a real commitment to the land. Every year, SD Guthrie produces millions of tonnes of palm oil that can be traced all the way back to the fields where it grew.

This is all part of a "Beyond Zero" promise, which means making sure there is no deforestation and that the ecosystems stay healthy. Our nine destinations are a way for you to see this in person, showing how we can look after the environment while still providing a warm place for you to stay.
